Resolution acknowledging the abandonment and forfeiture of R3
e contract for the 2018 Longview Street
and Fairfax Avenue Drainage Project, and awarding same to Wilson
Contractingin the amount of $90,641.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the 2018 Longview
St. and Fairfax Ave Drainage Project; and,
WHEREAS, on February 19, 2019 the City awarded the contract to R3
Construction as the lowest responsible bidder; and,
WHEREAS, R3 Construction has been unable to obtain the required and
necessary bonds for this project, resulting in abandonment and forfeiture of its rights
arising out of the City's acceptance of its bid; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that the next lowest responsible bidder is Wilson
Contracting, which made a unit price bid with an estimated total of $90,641.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The award of bid for the 2018 Longview Street and Fairfax Avenue Drainage
Project to R3 Construction is hereby forfeited, and the unit price bid is hereby awarded to
Wilson Contracting, in an estimated total amount of $90,641.00, and the City Manager is
authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with said Contractor for the
construction of such project.
