Res 027-2019 Purchase Two 30-foot Low Floor Buses 2/19/2019
Resolution No. 27-2019
Resolution authorizing the purchase of two (2) 30-foot low floor diesel
buses off the Commonwealth of Virginia Contract to Gillig LLC in the
amount of $850,000
WHEREAS,Federal Transit Administration allows for piggybacking purchases as
indicated in Section 6.3.3 of its Best Practices Procurement Manual; and,
WHEREAS, Commonwealth of Virginia had solicited and contracted for buses
through Gillig Corporation; and,
WHEREAS, Commonwealth of Virginia has two (2) 30-foot, low floor diesel buses
remaining on its contract with Gillig Corporation; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has requested and received authorization
from Commonwealth of Virginia to piggyback on the purchase of two 30-foot, low floor
diesel buses that remain on its contract with Gillig Corporation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase two (2) 30-
foot, low floor, diesel buses with Gillig LLC through Commonwealth of Virginia contract in
the amount of $850,000.
