Resolution authorizing award of bid for the purchase of one %-ton,
regular cab pickup truck with a bed cover from the low bidder,
Henrietta CHBU, L.L.C., in the amount of $17,985.00; or to the local
bidder, Patterson Auto Center, Inc., in the amount of $18,414.00; and
authorizing the award of bid for the purchase of one %-ton, 4-door
pickup truck from the low bidder, Wichita Falls Ford -Lincoln, Inc., in
the amount of $23,164.24
WHEREAS, the City advertised and requested bids for the purchase of one (1)'/2-
ton regular cab pickup truck with a bed cover and one (1)'/2-ton 4-door pickup truck; and,
WHEREAS, bids were received and publicly opened on January 28, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for the'/2-ton regular
cab pickup, Four Stars Auto Group, in the amount of $17,985.00; and the local bidder,
Patterson Auto Center, Inc., in the amount of $18,414.00, and find both acceptable; and,
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 .....allows a municipality
to award a bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid price received to the bidder
whose principal place of business is in the municipality if the governing body of the
municipality determines, in writing, that the local bidder offers the municipality the best
combination of contract price and additional economic development opportunities for the
municipality created by the contract award, including the employment of residents of the
municipality and increased tax revenues to the municipality......, and,
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for the'/2 ton, 4-door
pickup truck from Wichita Falls Ford -Lincoln, Inc. in the amount of $23,164.24.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff are authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase:
One (1) '/2-ton, regular cab pickup from the local bidder, Patterson Auto
Center, Inc., in the amount of $18,414.00;
and
One (1) '/2-ton, 4-door pickup from Wichita Falls Ford -Lincoln, Inc., in the
amount of $23,164.24.
