Resolution No. 120-2018
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award the upgrade
variable frequency drives and refurbish power cells at Lake
Arrowhead to Siemens Industry Inc. in the amount of $567,630.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to follow Best Management
Practices in the maintenance of the Lake Arrowhead Variable Frequency Drives;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state
2.022(a)(2)
because it is a procurement necessary to preserve or protect the public health and
safety of the residents of the City of Wichita Falls by improving the quality of potable
water;
WHEREAS the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state
requirements for competitive bidding pursuant to Texas Local Government § 252.022
(a)(7)(A), which exempts from competitive bidding purchases of
available from only one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes, or
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the upgrade of variable frequency drives
and refurbish of power cells at Lake Arrowhead is in the best interest of the citizens of
the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Authorization is granted to award the best value purchase of Digital NXGPro
VFD Drives and Power Cell Refurbishments to Siemens Industry, Inc. in the amount of
$567,630.00, and the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract for the City and
said firm for the manufacture and installation of such equipment.
