Resolution No. 118-2018
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award the Purchase of an
ICS-6000 Ion Chromatograph to ThermoFisher Scientific, in the
amount of $117,281.27
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls requested quotes from applicable vendors
for the upgrade of an existing Gas Chromatograph Electron Capture Detector for Water
Purification;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state
(a)(2)
because it is a procurement necessary to preserve or protect the public health and
safety of the residents of the City of Wichita Falls by improving the quality of potable
water;
WHEREAS the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state
requirements for competitive bidding pursuant to Texas Local Government § 252.022
(a)(7)(A), which exempts from competitive bidding purchases of
available from only one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes, or
natuand
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that purchasing an upgrade of the Gas
Chromatograph Electron Capture Detector is in the best interest of the citizens of the
City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The purchase of an Ion Chromatograph is awarded to ThermoFisher Scientific in
the amount of $117,281.27, and the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract
for the City and said firm for the manufacture of such equipment.
