Ordinance No. 53-2018
Ordinance accepting $32,176.00 of grant funds pursuant to the 2018
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program
(Local Solicitation Award #2018-DJ-BX-0871), appropriating said
funds to the Special Revenue Fund, and authorizing the City
Manager to execute all documents necessary to accept and share
said funds
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it has been awarded
$32,176.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program;
and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be shared by the Wichita Falls Police Department
($17,691.85475.15), co-applicant for
such grant; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to assist in the purchase of Bluetooth
headsets, repelling gear, and rifle optics for the Special Operations Section.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls hereby accepts the sum of $32,176.00 as awarded by
the 2018 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, and said
funds are appropriated to the Special Revenue Fund to account for the revenues and
expenditures of the program.
The City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept
and share the aforementioned grant funds, including, but not limited to, agreements
with granting agencies and with Wichita County.
