Resolution Authorizing City Staff To Execute All Documents
Necessary To Apply for and Accept Safe Routes To School Program
Funds In The Amount Of up to $1,079,529.00 From The Texas
Department Of Transportation, With No Local Match Required
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation has issued the call for the
Safe Routes to School program; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is committed to providing safe bicycle and
pedestrian access throughout the Community; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls wishes to apply for and accept
$1,079,529.00 in Safe Routes to Schools funding to improve pedestrian and bicycle
access around John Tower, City View, and Southern Hills Elementary Schools.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City Staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept the
maximum amount of Safe Routes to Schools funds available from the Texas
Department of Transportation for the purpose of making bicycle and pedestrian
infrastructure improvements at John Tower, City View, and Southern Hills elementary
schools, with no local match.
