Resolution No. 70-2018
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to make application to the
Bureau of Justice Statistics (NCS-X) Grant through the Texas
Department of Public Safety for conversion to the National Incident-
Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Grant Number 2012-MU-MU-K003,
in the amount up to $325,000.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible to apply
for a non-matching grant up to $325,000.00 from the Bureau of Justice Statistics (NCS-
X) Grant through the Texas Department of Public Safety for conversion to the National
Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS); and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council finds it in the best interest of the
citizens of Wichita Falls, that the Bureau of Justice Statistics (NCS-X) Grant Program
be operated for FY 2018; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of the Bureau of Justice Statistics (NCS-X) Grant Funds, the Wichita Falls City
Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (NCS-
X) in full; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council designates Darron Leiker, City
Manager,
to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant
agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for grant funding from the
Bureau of Justice Statistics (NCS-X) Grant through the Texas Department of Public
Safety for conversion to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Grant
Number, 2012-MU-MU-K003, in the amount up to $325,000.00.
