LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
May 15, 2018

Minutes were approved. Mrs. Hill introduced herself and gave some background on her professional experience.
The board voted via email on a time for the new meeting of 4:30pm. The new meeting time will begin in
September.
Mrs. Hill informed the group that Ms. Hausburg is currently researching additional methods for discarding of
withdrawn books in preparation for a large weeding project which should take place during the summer and fall.
Books will continue to be sent to the Friends yet staff anticipate there being more books than the Friends can
remove each week.
Mrs. Hill then promoted summer programming and handed out the flyer that provides information about
regular weekly programs ongoing through June and July, and shared info about some of the one-off special
Texas.
Mrs. Hill handed out a rubric for the Centennial Art Contest that will be ongoing throughout the year. Mr.
Sernoe offered to assist with coordinating judges through the art department of MSU.
Mrs. Hill then gave an updated on the Centennial Celebration planning that includes performances by a face
painter, balloon twisting, and music along with refreshments. Mr. Sernoe and Mrs. Watt-Sutherland offered to
help in any capacity during the event.
There being no new business, meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
Next meeting is September 18, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
