Res 077-2006 6/6/2006 RESOLUTION NO. 77-2006
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, IN SUPPORT OF A MOBILE DENTAL VAN; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, in a 2003 county-wide needs assessment, adequate dental care for
children ages 4 to 12 who are uninsured and underserved was identified as a priority;
and
WHEREAS, a partnership was formed with the 13 District Dental Society, The
community Healthcare Center, MSU's Dental Hygiene Department and North Texas
Area United Way; and
WHEREAS, one local dentist, Dr. David Dasher, has become a champion for
those in need with a plan to take dental care to scale and reach more children through
a mobile van.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Wichita Falls is in support of efforts to attain a mobile dental van
and provide services to under served populations.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
