RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, TO AWARD BID AND CONTRACT FOR THE 2006
BUDGET UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CWF06-550-05 AND
APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO 1; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the 2006 Budget
Utility Improvement Project ; and
WHEREAS, it is found that the lowest, responsible bidder is Bowles Construction
Co., who made a unit price bid with an estimated total of $1,544,078.00; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to reduce the cost of this project, and
WHEREAS, Bowles construction has proposed a deductive Change Order of
$524,442.00 for the proposed project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Said unit price bid of Bowles Construction Co. and Change Order
No. 1, giving a contract amount of $1,019,636.00, is hereby accepted, and the City
Manager is authorized to execute a contract for the City with said Contractor for the
construction of such project.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
