RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, IN SUPPORT OF LOCATING THE FUTUREGEN
PROJECT AT THE WILBARGER COUNTY/VERNON, TEXAS
LOCATION; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The Wichita Falls community is no longer in contention for its bid to
host the FutureGen project; and
WHEREAS, The FutureGen project stands to provide significant economic
benefits to Wichita Falls provided the region's bid for the project stays in contention;
and
WHEREAS, The panel established by the NORTEX Regional Planning
Commission has selected a site in Wilbarger CountyNernon, Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Wichita Falls community supports the Wilbarger
County/Vernon, Texas site in its continued bid for the FutureGen project.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
