Ord 16-2006 3/7/2006 ORDINANCE NO. � � ���� ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7-2006 DATED FEBRUARY 7, 2006 TO GRANT ADDITIONAL TIME FOR THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY AT 2712 COLQUIT TO REHABILITATE THE STRUCTURE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the property at 2712 Colquit, currently owned by Jose C. Torres, was included in a list of properties that were declared hazardous structures at the City Council meeting of February 7, 2006; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Torres has requested time to rehabilitate the structure; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to grant Mr. Torres additional time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Additional time in the amount of 120 days to end at the end of the business day on July 6, 2006, is to granted to the property owner of 2712 Colquit to have a licensed contractor obtain a Restoration Building Permit, substantial progress shall have been accomplished 45 days after the above date, and a Certificate of Occupancy obtained by the end of the business day on Julv 6, 2006. Failure to complete timeframe requirements will result in the demolition of the structure, without further notification. Upon issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy, the demolition order shall become void. SECTION 2. Due to the fact that the subject matter of this ordinance affects the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Wichita Falls, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, and shall become effective immediately upon its passage. SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
