ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, APPOINTING GARY BUTLER AS A SUBSTITUTE
JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT FOR A TERM OF TWO YEARS;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, there are currently three substitute judges to act in the place and
stead of the Municipal Judge when he is unavailable; and,
WHEREAS, these judges work on the weekends on a rotational basis; and,
WHEREAS, there is a need for a fourth substitute judge, to act in the place and
stead of the Municipal Judge during the week while he is on vacation or otherwise
unavailable; and,
WHEREAS, attorney Gary Butler has expressed an interest in serving as a
substitute judge during such time periods; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approves of the appointment of Mr. Butler to serve
as a substitute judge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby appoints Gary Butler to serve as a
substitute judge of the Municipal Court for a term of two years, from June 20, 2006.
SECTION 2. It is officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
