ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FROM THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, OFFICE OF DOMESTIC
PREPAREDNESS, FOR THE 2005 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY
PROGRAM AND MAKING BUDGETARY APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND OF THE CITY; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that it has been awarded a total of
$384,954.00 for the 2005 State Homeland Security Program and Law Enforcement
Terrorism Prevention Program; and
WHEREAS, $78,000.00 of the total grant has been identified as the regional
grant amount, which can be used for equipment, planning, training, and exercises for
the region's emergency preparedness program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City hereby accepts the 2005 State Homeland Security
Program and Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program in the amount of
$384,954.00 and make budgetary appropriations in the Special Revenue Fund of the
City to account for these expenditures.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this Ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
