Resolution No. __32-2018__
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a five-year
Towing and Impound Service Contract and Commercial Lease for
property at 3101 Armory Road with Jody Wade Enterprises, LLC and
Collins Motor Company, LLC. or at 3205 industrial Drive with Mike
Freeman’s Towing Service, LLC.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls issued RFP 02-18, requesting proposals for
a Wrecker Service and Vehicle Storage Operation for the Police Department; and ,
WHEREAS, proposals were opened on January 29, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal to provide services described below has been
determined to be advantageous to the City of Wichita Falls, and meets the
requirements set forth in RFP 02-18, and provides the following to the City:
1. A 5-year rent-free lease of building space in exchange for exclusive rights to
provide towing & impound services to the City,
2. 24-hour access for customers to retrieve impounded vehicles,
3. Secure vehicle space for 150 evidence/seizure impounds,
4. Space for at least 350 total impounded vehicles, and
5. Vehicle auction services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Five -Year Towing and
Impound Service Contract and Commercial Lease for Property with Mike Freeman’s
Towing Service, LLC for the Police Department in accordance with the criteria listed
above and in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
