ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS STATE LIBRARY AND
ARCHIVES COMMISSION FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE
COMPUTERS AND ASSOCIATED SOFTWARE, AND APPROPRIATING
$6,250 TO THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND FOR THEIR PURCHASE;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Texas State
Library and Archives Commission is offering grant funds for the purchase of computers
and requisite software; and
WHEREAS, The Wichita Falls Public Library wishes to use these grant funds to
replace and purchase additional computers with "kid-friendly" software for use at the
Library; and
WHEREAS, The City Manager must execute the grant agreement with the Texas
State Library and Archives Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a grant agreement for
the purchase of computers at the Library.
SECTION 2. An amount not to exceed $6,250 is hereby appropriated in the
Special Revenue Fund for the purchase of these computers.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
