ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATION IN THE SPECIAL REVENUE
FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $29,917 FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR
THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS GRANT TO
SUPPORT PANDEMIC INFLUENZA PREPAREDNESS RECEIVED
FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT
ACCEPTING SAME; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District has received
an award of supplemental funding from the Department of State Health Services for
Pandemic Influenza preparedness; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls — Wichita County Public Health District and the
Department of State Health Services desire to enter into a contract to improve the
public health emergency preparedness effort through planning, outreach and education
activities related to avian and pandemic influenza; and
WHEREAS, the approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
the adoption of the FY 2005-2006 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund
$29,917 for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant to support Pandemic
Influenza preparedness, and the City Manager is authorized to enter into contract
accepting same.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
