Resolution authorizing the City Manager to make application with the
Texas Department of Transportation (T xDOT) for a Comprehensive
Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant for fiscal year
2019
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is eligible for a T xDOT Comprehensive
STEP Grant in the amount of $78,970.92; and,
WHEREAS, the City will use in-kind contributions to meet the required 20.01%
local match of $19,756.64; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Comprehensive STEP Gran t is to focus on
reducing the incidences of speeding, driving while intoxicated, failure to use occupant
restraint systems, intersection traffic control violations and enforcement of state and
local ordinances on cellular and texting devices .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to make application with The Texas
Department of Transportation for a Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement
Program Grant for fiscal year 2019.
