Nix. Public Utilities Operations Manager Mark Southard, Water Source/Purification Superintendent Absent Jesse Brown, Council Liaison Minutes: 1. Roll Call: Quorum Requirements were Satisfied. 2. Introductions of Participants & Welcome 3. Election of New Chair a. Glenn Barham nominated by Steve Smith b. Unanimous Vote to elect Glenn Barham as new WRC Chair. 4. Distribute and Discuss New Water Conservation /Drought Contingency Plans a. Discussed Stage 1 Triggers, since precipitation/Agricultural Drought has returned to the area. b. Demand for water is still down 2 years after the end of the drought (drought shadow) c. New Top 5 Users: Allred Prison still the highest user. MSU and WFISD made the list, along with WF Parks Department. These 5 users represent 0.02% of the total 33,000 users, but use 14% of all water produced. 5. Discuss current Drought Conditions a. NOAA Data b. Drought Monitor c. Current Lake Levels 6. Update on Indirect Potable Reuse (IPR) Project a. Start January 2018 b. Waiting on Pump Issue to be resolved. c. Treatment is ready, with Permit limits already being met. d. IPR will discharge an average of 8 – 9 MGD (current discharge rates) with a maximum of 16 MGD (annual average). 7. Update on Lake Ringgold Project a. Filed State Water Right in 2017. Current Status is Administratively Complete and under Technical Review by TCEQ.. b. City is expecting Contested Case Hearings within the next 2 years. c. This is the last reservoir site within the Region B Planning area. 8. Conservation Outreach Materials a. Distributed an example of outreach materials that are available to the City for public education. 9. Other Business a. Discussed Irrigation Controls, specifically Rain Sensor requirements. 10. Adjourn
