Res 169-2017 12/19/2017Resolution No. _169-2017_ Resolution to accept or reject sealed bids as presented for 52 excess City Trustee parcels and authorizing execution of deeds to convey title WHEREAS, from time to time, the City of Wichita Falls, along with the Wichita Falls Independent School District and Wichita County recover judgments in suits filed in the District Courts of Wichita County, Texas, for delinquent taxes, penalties, and interest and the foreclosure of the tax lien on properties located in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reduce the inventory of real property acquired from delinquent tax suits; and WHEREAS, on November 17, 2017, 52 sealed bid proposals were received for 100 parcels; and WHEREAS, the County Commissioners voted on December 4, 2017 to accept or reject the sealed bids as presented; and WHEREAS, the WFISD voted on December 11, 2017 to accept or reject the sealed bids as presented; and WHEREAS, pending approval of all three entities, it is determined to be in the best interest of the public to return these properties with accepted bids to private ownership and put them back on the tax roll. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents to facilitate the sale to the winning bidders as recommended and indicated by staff on the Bid Form.
