RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND
TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF THE IMPROVEMENTS
LOCATED AT 3301 ARMORY ROAD FORMERLY KNOWN AS
THE SOUTHSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on March 6, 2007 the City Council authorized a 30 day notice
to terminate a lease with the Southside Neighborhood Center which has since
been terminated; and
WHEREAS, all affected City departments agree this sale will allow a better
use of the facilities and eliminate a financial burden to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, deems it
reasonable and in the best public interest to sell the improvements located at
3301 Armory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. In consideration of the receipt of Seventy-Nine Thousand
Five Hundred ($79,500) Dollars for the fair market value of the property and the
Six Hundred Eight-Five ($685) Dollars for the cost of the appraisal for a total of
$80,185 this resolution shall authorize the City Manager to execute a quitclaim
deed for the City's ownership of the improvements only of the property situated
on 3301 Armory Road as indicated on the attached Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "B".
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting
at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
